Vientiane Capital, 3ʳᵈ of March 2025 – The 16ᵗʰ Board of Directors Meeting of IPL was held on 3ʳᵈ of March 2025 under the chairmanship of H.E. Dr. Bounfeng Phoummalaysith, Minister of Health of the Lao PDR and Chair of the Board.

The meeting brought together members of the Board of Directors, representatives of partner countries and institutions, and members of IPL’s management team to review the institute’s activities, strategic priorities, and ongoing development.

Board members in attendance included H.E. Dr. Bounkong Syhavong, former Minister of Health; Prof. Manivanh Souphanthong, former Dean of the University of Health Sciences; Prof. Yves Buisson of the French Academy of Medicine; and Dr. Marc Jouan, Director of the Institut Pasteur of New Caledonia.

The meeting was also attended by representatives of key partner countries and organisations, including the Embassies of France, Japan, Canada, and Luxembourg, reflecting the strong international support and collaboration that contribute to IPL’s mission.

Representing IPL were Dr. Philippe Buchy, General Director; Dr. Darouny Phonekeo, Deputy Director; and Mr. Pascal Masse-Navette, Chief Financial Officer.

The Board of Directors plays a central role in guiding IPL’s strategic direction and ensuring that the institute continues to fulfil its mission of advancing research, public health, training, and scientific capacity building in Laos.
